MODULE 2: DRAWING AND SKETCHING

I will explain the different types of sketches and how to choose the right one depending on the type of work.

• TECHNIQUE 1: SKETCHING FOR BEGINNERS
  
  I will show you (with examples) how to make a VERY simple sketch, it is so easy that you don’t need any drawing skills.
• TECHNIQUE 2: ADVANCED SKETCHING
  
  I am going to show you how to make a very detailed sketch (using a special paper), this will be useful for when you increase the complexity of your paintings.
• DRAWING YOUR FIRST SKETCH
  
  Also in this MODULE you will start the practical stage of this process.
  
  I will show you how I make the sketch of YOUR FIRST WORK in a simple STEP BY STEP so that you can follow me on your canvas.

MODULE 3: HOW TO CHOOSE (AND USE) THE MATERIALS

MODULE 5: PAINTING YOUR FIRST PAINTING (STEP BY STEP)

This is a very simple STEP BY STEP in which I show you on my canvas and brushstroke by brushstroke EVERYTHING you have to do to follow me on your side while we paint together the painting “The Beach Snail”.

Here you will learn:

• PAINTING THE BACKGROUND (SKY AND SEA)
  
  Here you will learn how to work with your palette and make your first mixtures to achieve the exact tones of a sky that looks real and a sea that looks distant to the horizon and close to the beach.
  
  I will explain which technique to use for the objects in the background of the painting, how to avoid mixing the tones on the canvas, how to blend and degrade, how to work the edges, and even the special TYPE OF BRUSHING you should use for the background if you want your painting to look realistic.
• PAINTING DISTANT OBJECTS (THE PALM TREE)
  
  You will learn how to create and mix warm, unsaturated colors such as wood and leaves to create foliage and groves.
  
  Then I will show you how to bring the original colors of your objects into the highlights and shadows to increase the VOLUME and depth of the work
• PAINTING CLOSE-UP PLANES (SAND)
  
  I will show you how to reuse the same mixtures you already have in your palette to form the tone of the sand without adding new oils and wasting paint and making it harmonious with the other tones of the work.
  
  You will also learn how to detail the sand (or any close flat object) so that it is differentiated from a distant plane and feels real.
• PAINTING THE MAIN OBJECT OF THE PAINTING (THE SNAIL)
  
  You will learn how to bring brown and dark colors into bright and luminous colors on the palette.
  
  Then we will use a trick to increase the depth of the work and bring the main object (in this case the snail) forward.
  
  And finally, we will work on the shadows and details (and use frotage) to increase the realism of the work a little more.
